Safety first
Never remove the panel cover, touch wiring, or reset a hot, wet, buzzing, sparking, or damaged panel.
Written steps
- Turn off or unplug devices in the affected area and make sure your hands and the floor are dry.
- At the closed electrical panel, look for one switch sitting between ON and OFF.
- Move that switch fully to OFF, then once to ON.
- If it trips again, leave it OFF and submit a maintenance request.
Stop and request maintenance if
- You see damage, moisture, rust, sparks, or scorch marks, or smell burning.
- The panel is not readily accessible without moving stored items.
- The breaker trips again or will not stay on.
