Turn the wall switch off and keep hands and tools out of the disposal opening.

  1. Turn the disposal wall switch OFF and wait one minute.
  2. Look underneath the unit for a small red or black reset button.
  3. Press the reset button once.
  4. Run cold water, then briefly turn the disposal on.
  5. If it hums, trips again, or does not start, turn it off and request maintenance.

  • The unit leaks, smells burned, or repeatedly trips.
  • You cannot reach the reset button without moving plumbing or appliances.
