Do not use a ladder, remove the dome, or touch any electrical parts.

What to do now

  1. Turn the wall switch off.
  2. Note whether other lights on the same switch or in the room still work.
  3. Photograph the fixture from floor level if it can be done safely.
  4. Submit a maintenance request with the room and fixture description.

Stop and request maintenance if

  • There is heat, smoke, buzzing, discoloration, or a burning smell.
  • The dome is cracked or loose.
  • Water is near the fixture.
